Imagine waking up, looking at your calendar, and feeling… spacious. Relaxed.

No scrambling, no dread, no “How am I possibly going to fit this all in?”, just a steady sense that your time actually belongs to you.

Most of us think of clutter as the stuff in our closets or garages. But your calendar can be just as overstuffed, and the weight of those commitments is just as exhausting (if not more so). Every “yes” you’ve said without thinking, every standing meeting that no longer serves you, every obligation you took on three versions of yourself ago or because of someone else’s expectations… they all add up.

Breaking Down the ‘Why’ for Our Focus This Month

A cluttered schedule steals from you in ways you don’t even see. It chips away at your energy, scatters your attention as you try to remember it all, and leaves you living in a constant low-grade adrenaline spike. You’re always “on,” but rarely in the ways that matter most.

When your calendar is too full, you lose the capacity for spontaneity, deep focus, and rest - all the things that fuel your best work and most meaningful connections; the things that make life matter. Over time, this pace becomes your ‘normal’, and you forget there’s another way to live.

That’s why October is devoted to Simplifying Your Schedule. This isn’t about sitting on the couch all day (unless that’s your actual dream; I won’t judge but don’t recommend it). It’s a way to design your days so that they reflect your longer term priorities, not just your potential and perceived obligations.

We’re leaning on the foundation of Module 1: Simplicity Mindset from the Simplify Your Schedule Kickstarter. Just like decluttering your home starts with changing how you see your stuff, decluttering your time starts with changing how you see your commitments. The shift begins when you realize that your time is a finite, precious resource.

This Month’s Focus: Simplifying Your Schedule

This month, we’ll work through a guided process to strip your calendar back to what truly matters, before rebuilding it in a way that supports your life, not the other way around.

We’ll take a full, honest inventory of where your time actually goes, uncover your personal “busyness threshold” (the point where you stop thriving and start drowning), and clarify your non-negotiable tasks—the things that absolutely belong in your calendar.

By the end of October, you’ll have a schedule that feels doable. Not aspirational in a Pinterest-perfect way, but grounded in your real life, energy, and priorities.
